Most t-shirts in India are made to hit a price. Thin cotton, a design copied from somewhere else, ten thousand pieces printed before anyone has asked for one.

We started The Studio Era to work the other way round. Every design is drawn here, printed in short runs, and checked by hand before it goes in a bag. If a run sells out, good. We would rather that than a cupboard full of shirts nobody wanted.

Everything is 180 GSM combed cotton, bio-washed and pre-shrunk, so it keeps its shape and stays soft after the tenth wash. The collar is ribbed and holds. These are the details you only notice when they are missing.

We are based in Ahmedabad, which has been making cloth for four hundred years. Our blanks are sourced in Gujarat, printed in Gujarat, and packed in Gujarat. Nothing travels further than it needs to.
